Partition Poster

This infographic represents the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan. These infographics attempt to illustrate the carelessness of the British while deciding the borders between India and Pakistan. This decision forced 15 million people to migrate, and continues to be a location of unrest and war ever since. The cyclical nature of this decision is illustrated by a circular calendar. The other infographic portrays the arbitrary nature of this boundary by using a loose artistic brushstroke to depict the border. This project encourages American immigrants to delve into the history of their home countries and find creative ways to inform American history.
